Toowoomba First Nations Allies

A couple of weeks after the failed referendum of 4 October 2023 a group of people who had campaigned in Toowoomba for YES met to process their reactions. Many of those who met that morning were interested in continuing to work toward better outcomes for First Nations people. They agreed to meet again a few weeks later and Toowoomba First Nations Allies has developed from that meeting.

The group has continued to meet and discuss directions. This document has evolved through discussion about what it means to be allies and how we might develop in that space. The action areas reflect the group priorities of becoming better informed about relevant matters and strengthening community relationships.
